This was his third staring role, yet it was a perfect staring vehicle for Eddie Murphy. Heck, I love that name-AXEL FOLEY-notice my profile name people?!?!? He is a streetwise Detroit detective who does not always play by the rules. After an old friend gets wacked, he follows the trail to Beverly Hills to investagate-what a vacation for him! He locks horns with and eventually helps the Beverly Hills Police catch a deceptive art dealer whose both smuggling drugs and responsible for some murders.

I remember when I saw BHC back in 1984. It was so hyped. I kept hearing what a great movie this was and it was a must see. I remember about 15 minutes into the movie looking at my watch and wondering when it was going to start "getting good". I check my watch again about 1/2 way into the movie and wondered again, "when is this movie going to get good?" Then it ended and that was it. It kid of felt like going to high school; you keep hearing how great it's going to be and then it just turns out to be OK and then it ends.
