A breakthrough - Beverly Hills Cop Reviews

Beverly Hills Cop was the first action movie to really feature comedy, and because of this new brand of moviemaking, people rushed to the theatres to see it, making it one of the biggest moneymakers in history at the end of its run in theatres. It featured Eddie Murphy, who had been known for smaller movies and his role on Saturday Night Live, but this film really put him on the map. He is Detroit Detective Axel Foley, who's friend is killed one night outside of his apartment. Foley decides to avenge the murder and the clues all lead toward his friend's employer, an art dealer in Beverly Hills, California. This movie featured a great soundtrack and hysterical comedy, not to mention kick-ass action. My grade: 95/100
