I remember when I saw BHC back in 1984. It was so hyped. I kept hearing what a great movie this was and it was a must see. I remember about 15 minutes into the movie looking at my watch and wondering when it was going to start "getting good". I check my watch again about 1/2 way into the movie and wondered again, "when is this movie going to get good?" Then it ended and that was it. It kid of felt like going to high school; you keep hearing how great it's going to be and then it just turns out to be OK and then it ends.

What a great 80's movies. Axel Foley can fit in everywhere in this movie witht spirit of the con man turn cop. Great movie soundtrack too. Good car chase scene in the beginning, of the course the banana in the tailpipe scene was riotous and when Eddie makes fun of the black guy on the other team trying to tail him, that is great. The scene in the strip club where they are playing that song Nasty Girl is awesome. They should have put that song on the soundtrack. Akso the best movie sountrack ever!!! This film is truly Eddie Murphy at his best. In the scene where the truck of cigarettes takes off with Eddie clinging to the back, so does the film! This is a story of nonstop comedy and great adventure. It's amazing how Axel is able to shrug off his misfortunes so easily and go on laughing and having a good time; especially after the confrontation with his boss in the locker room; his arrest at Victor Maitlind's office; and the shootout at the end at Maitlind's house. Eddie deserved an Oscar for this. Shame he wasn't even nominated. OH WELL!

Geez, what can you say about this movie? It's a good-times film. Yes, it's unrealistic. Yes, Eddie Murphy's acting carries the film. Yes, it is a predictable plot line NOW.... This is by far my favorite movie of all time, its sequel were superceded by the outstanding, and near perfect original, that although was intended to be played by Sly Stallone, was much better acted by Eddie Murphy, his comedic attitude, and style could not have been pulled off by anyone else, I live my life by this movie and hope that there will be a sequel that could be this caliber.
